ALLISON STAMIRIS has been studying drums and percussion for over 20 years.  Since 2002, her primary focus has been on learning traditional rhythms of West Africa from master drummers of the rhythm's country of origin.  She enjoys traveling to Mali, Ghana, and Guinea to deepen her knowledge of West African rhythm and culture.  Allison is currently performing in the Boston area with Moussa Traore and Sory Diabate from Mali, as well as Attah Poku and Nani Agbeli from Ghana.  Allison has been teaching African drum classes since 2006.
